Appendix:English verbs with Latin prefixes
This table lists English verbs composed of a single Latin prefix and Latin root verb. In green, the header row and index column give the Latin translations with which a surface etymology of the English word can be obtained (e.g. proceed = forward + go ).
The "other" column contains infrequent prefixes: ante- (before), circum- (around), contra- (against), extra- (outside), intra- (inside), ne- (not), post- (after), retro- (backwards), se- (apart).
